This winter our team packed and delivered over 300 food parcels across KwaZulu-Natal, reaching child-headed households, elderly citizens and families hit hardest by unemployment.
Every parcel was assembled by a team of volunteers at our Pinetown base and delivered by hand. We refuse to leave a parcel on a doorstep. When we arrive, we sit, we listen and we learn what else the family needs.
Working with local schools and clinics helped us identify the households most at risk. In several cases, we returned two weeks later with school uniforms and dignity packs because the family had children out of school for reasons beyond food alone.
